Duo from Kenhardt sentenced for malicious damage to property

The Kenhardt Magistrate Court recently convicted two males accused of malicious damage to property, that was committed on 30 March 2025.
The duo was found removing the roof of a fixed structure by the owner when he arrived at his premises.
The complainant reported the matter to the police and the case of Malicious Damage to Property was registered.
The two, Gerald Rooi (26) was sentenced to 3 years of direct imprisonment, and his co-accused Richards Roberts (28) was sentenced to 2 months suspended for 5 years.
Both accused were declared unfit to possess a firearm.
The investigating officer, Constable Charlton January, was applauded by the ZFM management for the excellent investigation of the case, which demonstrates the efforts of the police in investigating every case reported.
