HEFTY SENTENCES FOR VICTORIA WEST MURDER ACCUSED
Kimberley- 22 September 2025: The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieuternant General Koliswa Otola and her management welcome the hefty sentences handed down by the High Court that sat in Victoria West, to 55-year old Willy Jubell and 39-year old Elliot Jooste, following the killing of 31 year old Tshepo Mmadi in Victoria West, on Saturday, 24 April 2021.
The deceased was on his way home after visiting his girlfriend when accosted by three males who stabbed and robbed him of his belongings.
He was declared deceased on the scene by the Victoria West Emergency Services.
All three accused were arrested shortly after the incident.
Willy Jubell was sentenced to 22 years imprisonment for murder and Elliot Jooste was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for murder and an additional 1 year for theft.
The third accused was released.
Additionally, the two accused were declared unfit to possess firearms.
Lieutenant General Otola praised the Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Basil Abrahams for his resilience, thorough and meticulous investigation of the cases and ensuring the long incarceration of the accused.
