DAGGA WORTH THOUSANDS SEIZED IN MOTHIBISTAD

During the continuation of the Safer Festive Season Operations, police actions resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of dagga and the arrest of three suspects, two males, aged 53 and 64 respectively and a female aged 41 on Sunday, 25 January 2026.

Police received information about dagga allegedly being stored at an identified premises in Seoding, Mothibistad.

Upon the police arrival, a search was conducted at the identified premises, where dagga valued at approximately R26 650-00 was found and cash believed to be the proceeds of crime was confiscated.

In addition to the operation, one male person aged 40 was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

All four suspects are expected to appear in the Mothibistad Magistrate Court soon.

The Acting District Commissioner of John Taolo Gaetsewe, Brigadier Kenneth Baloyi, applauded the members for their swift response and arresting the suspects and thanked community members who continuously provide the police with valuable information.
