Easter Church Service Dedicated to Law Enforcement Officials

The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Lt Gen Koliswa Otola accompanied by Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Crime Detection, Maj Gen Jacques Raymond, Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Corporate Services, Maj Gen Thabo Mphuthi and District Commisioner of Frances Baard District, Maj Gen Johan Bean.  The service was joined by other stakeholders including JCPS cluster including the SANDF, the Department of Transport, Safety and Liaison, Correctional Services, Provincial and Municipal Traffic, the Community Police Forum, Kimberley Ministers Fraternal, SAPS Spiritual Crime Prevention Forum and members of the community at large converge at TD Church in New Park, Kimberley for the annual Easter Church Service dedicated to Law Enforcement Officers on 19 March 2024.

A drill platoon led by the Provincial SAPS Band marched to the entrance of the church, where they were acknowledged by the Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Otola.

Arch Bishop MJ Cross from the African Church, opened with a prayer.

Maj Gen Johan Bean, acknowledged all dignitaries and attendees from all departments, religious fraternities and communities.

The Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner for  Corporate Services,  Maj Gen Thabo Mphuthi, outlined the purpose of the day.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, who commended all the Law Enforcement agencies for their hard work and dedication.  She wished her colleagues the best for the upcoming Easter Holiday in delivering their duties, also encouraged them to maintain their personal safety whilst fighting against crime. “We will continue as a collective to squeeze the space for criminals to operate”, she said.

Chaplains from the Department of Correctional Services, the Traffic Department,  SANDF, SAPS, and religious leaders from the community were afforded the opportunity to deliver scriptures and Easter messages.
