Excellence Awards for SAPS members

The South African Police Service held its Annual Provincial Excellence Awards at the Madiba Hall on 13 November 2025.
To pay homage and recognise the tireless efforts, bravery and selflessness of police officers who strive to make an impact in their communities.
MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Limakatso Koloi and the Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola, were accompanied by counterparts from the Department of Correctional Services, Regional Commissioner for Free State and Northern Cape, Subashini Moodley.
The recipients and colleagues exchanged their uniforms for the exquisite dress code. The SAPS band also match the occasion by playing beautiful music with guests singing along and dancing to popular tunes.
The Provincial Commissioner said these awards are a testament to the hard work, sacrifice and dedication made by members and they are delighted and proud to acknowledge these distinct and outstanding achievements.
MEC Koloi added that “receiving these awards means your peers recognize the value of your work and commitment”.
Messages of support came from colleagues, the Community Policing Forum (CPF). Clement Baai of the ZFM District CPF made a commitment to work hand in hand with SAPS to ensure that communities in the province are safe.
The judging process begins at the office where the members are based, then proceeds to the Districts and finally to a panel of judges at the Provincial level.

District won the Best Cleaner Category.
Woman of the Year Winner and Vispol winner, Sergeant Omphile Masegela said, “I am very honoured to be recognized in this manner and at this level, it comes with a lot of hard work, commitment and going an extra mile”.
Colonel Henry Griffiths from the provincial office of OD & Strategic and Strategic Management office received position one in the Administration Employee of the year level 8-12 said “I was fortunate enough to be the winner in this category, we are getting recognition for the extra time, with 30 years of experience I get to expose my juniors to tangible ideas and see tangible results”.
Griffiths’ team also received the Administration Team of the year award.
All postion one winners will compete at the National awards which will be held at the national in Pretoria.
