FRANCES BAARD DISTRICT COMMISSIONER DONATES SCHOOL UNIFORMS TO RELEBOGILE PRIMARY
As part of the Back to School Campaign, the Frances Baard District Commissioner, Major General Charlotte Makgari together with her Management team invluding Brigadier Nicholas Mtongana and station commanders within the district as well as the Community Policing Forum members donated much needed school uniforms to leaners at Relebogile Primary School in the Hartsvalei in the Warrenton policing area on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.
In outlining the background and purpose of the event, Major General Makgare, cited that she visited several schools in the district, and through social crime coordinators and community police forums, identified leaners from impoverished families. The plight of the learners encouraged and motivated her to alleviate their need by donating uniforms.
The donation provides essential access to education for underprivileged children, boosting their confidence, dignity and self-esteem, decrease the rate of absenteeism and dropping out of school.
More than 80 identified leaners received uniform from the SAPS in the district, which included shoes, socks, shirts,trousers and jerseys.
The school principal, Mrs Agreenette Phale welcomed and appreciated the donations, stating that it will contribute to boosting learners morale and confidence.
When addressing the leaners General Makgare encouraged them to focus on activities that have a positive impact on their education and to stay away from drugs or any substance abuse.
