Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner leads Crime Blitz in Kimberley

The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola together with the Frances Baard District Commissioner, Major General Charlotte Makgari led a crime blitz in the greater Kimberley today, 5 December 2025.
As part of Safer Festive Season operations officers and members from Provincial Components, Stations and Units executed actions simultaneously with surrounding stations in the Frances Baard district.
The crime sweep consisted of roadblocks, vehicle check points, and stop and search actions.
SAPS members, accompanied by other law enforcement agencies, engaged with motorists, distributing information pamphlets and sharing general safety hints.
High visibility patrols were executed at shopping centres and malls to curb ATM and retail related crimes.
This clean sweep resulted in the searching of 683 vehicles and 1 947 persons. Fines for various traffic violations totaling R14 150-00 and Admission of Guilt fines totaling R16 100-00 were issued.
These actions will continue unabated throughout the province to ensure that all inhabitants and visitors are safe during the Festive Season and beyond. End
