The Department of Roads and Public Works would like to alert motorists that a sinkhole has developed on the N12 (which falls under the jurisdiction of SANRAL), located approximately 21.9 km from Britstown and 53.1 km from Strydenberg, between the two towns. Current Status: One lane on the negative side is currently closed due to ongoing excavation. A Stop-and-Go traffic control system is in place to ensure the safety of road users. Repair work is underway, and the contractor has begun addressing the issue. Motorists are urged to proceed with caution, adhere to traffic signage, and allow for possible delays while driving through the affected area.
