Recreation hall in Galeshewe was filled with an echo of jubilation and screams of excited parents as it hosted the Grade R annual graduation ceremony of Olympic Primary school on Thursday the 20th November 2025.

Phones were on full swing capturing mode as elated parents witnessed their little one’s excited and beaming faces as they participated in various performances, looking debonair in their black and white tuxedos and ballroom dresses.

A total of 72 children who graduated on the day, participated in different activities on stage, and recited the Children’s Rights and Responsibilities as stated in the constitution, whilst other performed very popular children’s songs and worship songs like ‘Into My Heart’ by Harry Dudley Clarke.

One of the proud parents was Thomas Boeta who expressed pride in seeing his little one finally graduating to ‘big school.’

“This is a special occasion because it is a stepping stone for children to know they can achieve everything in life. This the foundation and it was laid with good structure” Boeta said.

The big moment, teary for some of the parents, was when it was time for the little graduates to put on the black robe and the gold and black belts that match the school colours.

It was an evidently emotional moment to many when one father stood up and went to assist the teacher to fix his little man’s robe, dusting off the chips crumbs from his cute little face.

The word of the day was from one of the teachers, Jeanette Long, who was quoted saying ” Teach them respect and discipline so they can be successful in life.”
