Petrusville Detective secures murder sentence

The accused, Stanley Teis, 30, was found guilty of murder and sentenced to ten years imprisonment by the Philipstown Regional Court on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.

He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.

The incident dates back to Sunday, 24 December 2023 at approximately 03:45  , when the Police in Petrusville received a complaint from community members regarding a male victim who was stabbed in Petrusville.

Upon arrival, the victim was found bleeding with multiple stab wounds.

The 47-year-old male victim succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.

Teis was immediately arrested by Detective Constable Johnny Nell for murder, and bail was denied.

He remained in custody until the finalisation of the case in the Philipstown Regional Court.

The Pixley Ka Seme District  Commissioner, Major General Nomana Mtukushe applauded Detective Constable  Nell of Petrusville Detectives for his thorough investigative work and for ensuring that a violent criminal was convicted and sentenced.
