Delportshoop police still seeking 2019 acid attack suspect

The South African Police Service in Delportshoop is appealing to members of the public for assistance in locating a person of interest who may assist police with an ongoing attempted murder investigation.
It is alleged that on 4 March 2019, at approximately 00:40, a 34-year-old woman was attacked when an unknown substance, believed to be acid, was thrown onto her face.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Molefi Shemane confirmed that the victim sustained serious facial and bodily injuries during the incident.
Shemane said the Delportshoop police are seeking 58-year-old Farooq Mohammed, who is depicted in the accompanying photograph, as he may be able to provide information that could assist investigators in progressing the case.
Anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of Farooq Mohammed is urged to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Velile Tshabalala of the Delportshoop Detective Service, on 082 454 3540.
