Shaderick Seane, 31, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Kimberley High Court on Friday, after a 28 year old woman’s body was found with assault and strangulation injuries in Soul City, Galeshewe.
The sentence was passed on 28 August 2026 following his conviction for murder.
The woman’s body was discovered on Tuesday, 02 September 2025.
Post-mortem examination revealed that the deceased had sustained injuries consistent with having been assaulted and strangled.
The cause of death was therefore determined to be strangulation.
The investigation further established that the deceased’s body had remained inside the house for approximately two days, from Sunday, 31 August 2025, until it was discovered on Tuesday, 02 September 2025.
The case docket was assigned to Detective Warrant Officer Brendon Boraine of the Kagisho Detective Unit for investigation.
Through a thorough and diligent investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested and denied bail. He remained in custody until his conviction and sentencing by the Kimberley High Court on Friday, 28 August 2026.
Major General Makgari commended Boraine for his meticulous investigation, which contributed to securing the conviction and life sentence.
The successful outcome is a fitting conclusion to Women’s Month, reaffirming the SAPS’s commitment to protecting women and ensuring that perpetrators of violence against women are brought to justice.
The life sentence imposed by the court demonstrates that perpetrators of serious crimes against women will be held accountable for their actions.
