Sol Plaatjie Municipality reminded residents that teams from its service provider, Ontec, are conducting electricity meter audits and replacing faulty and offline meters.
The exercise involves the auditing of various electricity meters, old conventional meters and smart prepaid meters, as part of the municipality’s efforts to strengthen collection and reduce electricity losses.
The visits will take place throughout the Sol Plaatjie Municipality jurisdiction, with specific households identified.
The municipality urge the residents to be on the lookout for the Ontec team with the following identification:
– Display of valid job identification tags at all times.
– Wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment(PPE).
– Identifying themselves when visiting residents’ properties.

The municipality appreciates residents’ cooperation and support as it works to ensure accurate billing, improve revenue collection and maintain a reliable electricity supply.
