Pensioner arrested For Possession Of Drugs worth 20k
A 61-year-old man is expected to make his first appearance in the Prieska Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 04 May 2026, following his arrest for possession of drugs with an estimated street value of more than R20 000-00.
Police acted on intelligence-driven information and conducted an operation at a residence in Pedro Street, Prieska, on Wednesday, 29 April 2026.
Members obtained a search warrant and proceeded to the identified premises, where they discovered an assortment of drugs, including mandrax tablets and tik.
The District Commissioner of Pixley ka Seme District, Major General Nomana Mtukushe, welcomed the arrest and commended members for their dedication and swift action.
She further issued a stern warning to individuals involved in drug-related activities,, stating that law enforcement will continue to intensify operations to ensure that those engaged in illegal trade are brought to justice.
